We believe the correct answer can be found when we constantly ask the right question. To find those answers, we calculate the details needed to make the bag look more like subtracting the required formula, and balance the function and beauty. We have been trying to create the necessary bags in the daily lives of people who travel to cities and cities.

About Brand

Mathematik means mathematics in German. Mathematics refers to the process of finding answers in a problem, and this is at the core of what we do. it's like finding answers as a brand of designers that Matematik is aiming for. We believe the correct answer can be found when we constantly ask the right question.
 
To find those answers, we calculate the details needed to make the bag look more like subtracting the required formula, and balance the function and beauty. However, Matematik's bag is not just defined by design, but is more of a challenge and an act of progress in bringing up problems and asking them back.

We multiply customer satisfaction by adding usability,
removing unnecessaries, and sharing great experience
that our substantial products can give.

 

 

 

Origin
J. Baek, a graphic designer, founded a design studio called Easter egg to inspire people through new and interesting design works. Easter egg studio started to make bags as a project that could be located close to people's everyday lives and inspired, as if easter egg meant hidden messages or functions in movies, software, video games, etc.
 
As he learned the whole production process of choosing fabrics, making patterns and sewing machines by hand, he enjoyed the process of making products by hand, more than designing bags. And in 2013, he launched a brand called Mathematik in Seoul.
Design Philosophy
One product becomes themselves only when it pursuit Beauty of Sculpture.
[ Not For Everyone ]
We have been trying to convey the unique design sensibility of Matematik. Everyone may not be able to understand our own design sensibilities. But we want to continue to work hard for the users who understand it and move forward to deliver greater satisfaction.


Our approach towards product design:
Minimalism
We seek to be minimalist, concise and simple to design. So we calculate the necessary features and details and try to get rid of the unnecessary. By avoiding added features and details, Mathematik products perform better at what they are designed for.
Innovation
We are not afraid of anything new and different. If it is better. Mathematik’s products are designed on the foundation of numerous innovations. So we don't make deadlines we don't need to make a single product. Because the process of making countless samples is also the process of making new and innovative products.
Functionality
Our thoughtful design offers smart functionality and configuration. We consider what functions are essential for users and try to apply them to the product. Since the bag is a tool that provides convenience in our daily lives, we strive to make the product suitable for the needs of our users.
Durability
We use premium materials and trims designed to last. We think from the point of view of the person who uses it, not the person who makes it, and strive to make the product according to that standard.
Hardware
The most important thing when choosing hardware used in bags is to select hardware that can be used for a long time and that can express the unique differentiated design of Mathematik.
Fabrics / Leather
We aim to develop and source all materials ourselves. Regular visits to suppliers, identifying who is producing the product, and continuing the relationship to achieve superior quality of Fabric and leather.




 

Design & Development in Seoul
We're a small team based in the west of Seoul and we design and develop all of our products at our creative studio in Seoul. Doing our prototyping in-house allows us to test new ideas and unique constructions from a very early stage. We believe this results in better products.
Urban Craftsmanship
We want to create the best product possible for you. So we have high standards. To meet these challenging criteria, vendors and producers have been selected very carefully. We are working with artisans in this field more than 30 years old. Most of them are made up of small factories in Seoul, and each production company is our partner. We also believe that the combination of various modern technologies and skilled craftsmanship creates a long-lasting product.
